Event Description:
Level 1: Myths & Misconceptions
Join Nick Crighton, SCC Director of Indigenous Engagement, for two half-day sessions of Indigenous Awareness Training Level 1: Myths & Misconceptions.
Open to the SCC membership and the general public, this introductory session covers the history of First Nation & Métis peoples in Saskatchewan from pre-contact to today, including Treaties and the TRC Calls to Action.
Nick Crighton is a proud Nêhiyaw/Scottish man and father from the Waterhen Lake First Nation in Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatchewan. He has spent the last 15 years growing his family, going to school and is currently the Director of Indigenous Engagement for the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce in Regina, SK. He is passionate about preserving Indigenous languages and culture and believes that education and sharing Indigenous history in our schools, businesses, and homes is imperative to bridging the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities so we can all connect, prosper and heal together.
This session is a prerequisite to all advanced levels of Indigenous Awareness Training.
All fees are due at the time of registration. If registering online or by phone, please use a credit card. If you would like to be invoiced, please contact mgeres@saskchamber.com to discuss available options.

All sessions are conditional upon a minimum enrollment. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If we cancel a session, a full refund or transfer to another session will be issued.
The withdrawal deadline for all sessions is 3 calendar days prior to session start date. Transfers may be accepted up to 24 hours before the session date. There is no refund after the withdrawal deadline.
